I haven't been traveling so I figured I didn't have anything to post. So what have I been doing? Well, true to the title of this blog, I am working for air fare. Which means that I've signed a contract to work for 4 months at my former employer. I've already paid for the safari that is planned for this coming September and am now earning money for next year's trips. So far the trips that top the lists for next year are a 2-week tour to Morocco (with perhaps a side trip to Spain) and a quick trip to Paris. I plan to work 3 or 4 months next year too, to earn money for traveling the year after. (Perhaps Scotland? a cruise down the Danube? not sure -- therre are so many possibilities).
My biggest problem at this point is to figure out what I can pack for Africa. I'll be going to Botswanna and Zambia and will be encountering hot, sweltering days, cold nights, and wet weather in Victorian Falls. The rub here is that I am limited to one 25-pound check-in bag and one 10-pound carry-on pack. That's all. Which means that I'm going to be doing daily laundry, I think -- in betwen swatting mosquitos. But I expect to come home with to-die-for photos and some great stories. I'll be keeping a daily journal (I won't have internet access) and will transcribe my daily entries as blog entries. So stay tuned.
